  It depends on the client.  RADIUS packets can be lost in the
network, and there's nothing that FreeRADIUS can do about it.

  If WUG only waits 5 seconds, then it probably won't retransmit
packets, and FreeRADIUS won't be given an opportunity to re-transmit
replies.

  Uh... no comment.  Much as open source doesn't have official
support, it often *works* when commercial software doesn't.
