unix module authentication doesn't work.....confirmation that client 64bit arch(amd64) does not work

Well, I have confirmed that if do NOT use amd64 Ubuntu/Dapper but a
i386 Ubuntu/Dapper architecture my configuration works. That is,
I created a user called test1 on the client and disabled the passwd, next
created the same user on server and gave a passwd. Voila it works.

I assume that radius does things in an encrypted manner...I get the
impression
it's tranmitting passwds in the clear?
