  No.  Stop trying to set Auth-Type.  It's not necessary.

  In 1.1.6, with the *default* configuration, all you need to do is to
set Crypt-Password in the "users" file, or in SQL.  Then, authentication
will work.

  Do NOT set Auth-Type.
