Sigh ... while reviewing the configuration for my now-in-production
installation, I spotted the "allow_core_dumps" parameter.  I will finish
with what I'm doing now, then return to getting more information of when
and where the CVS version is seg-faulting.  If the problem is of my own
creation, I'll just fix it.  Otherwise I'll report back with any
additional information I can provide.
