Is this a typo? FreeRADIUS 1 is severely outdated, and should not be used. Assuming not:

Configuration files are not 100% compatible between major releases, so you're not really doing yourself any favours by starting with 1.x.

I strongly advise you to start with 2.1.12 (packaged in CentOS) as a minimum, preferably the latest 3.0 release if you're prepared to build from source.

Honestly, I don't even really know where to begin debugging a release that old - it's crashed when loading a library, so I'd start looking at the build/link process, and particularly look at libtool.
