sites-available vs sites-enabled

Sites-available is the 'storage area' for virtual servers.  Sites-enabled is the live directory that the server users.  Just like with eg Apache on debian.  

How you operate with this schema is really down to you but best practice is to store/edit files in sites-available and symlink them from sites-enabled
