I've removed libtool from the build. It's a horrible piece of software. It looks like your libtool doesn't want to build libraries. That's partly why I removed libtool. It causes as many problems as it solves. I've seen that error before, and there is a solution. But I don't recall what it is. And quite frankly, I don't care. I've spent too many years fighting libtool for me to feel nice about it. My guess is that ran configure with "--with-system-libtool". Don't do that. Then, it should work. Alan DeKok.

It's standard autoconf options: I think you want '--without-system-libtool', just like --disable-ltdl-install vs. --enable-ltdl-install. That's not true, as --with-system-libltdl=no and --without-system-libtool are entirely equivalent, but the use of AC_ARG_WITH in configure.in is incorrect because its third argument is a block of code to be run whenever --with-<foo> is present(regardless of the argument is receives), not when is enabled Opened https://github.com/FreeRADIUS/freeradius-server/pull/99 -- Stelian Ionescu a.k.a. fe[nl]ix Quidquid latine dictum sit, altum videtur. http://common-lisp.net/project/iolib

My guess is that ran configure with "--with-system-libtool". Don't do that. Then, it should work.
my config line is: ./configure --prefix=/usr --with-large-files --with-raddbdir=/etc/raddb --with-snmp --with-experimental-modules --enable-developer I have added the --without-system-libtool (as --with-system-libtool=no doesnt work) but it nows fails with: LINK rlm_cram.la rlm_cram.lo Making all in src/modules/rlm_dbm... Huh? It should ALWAYS build src/lib before src/modules. What changed? Alan DeKok.
hi list, we patched rlm_sqlippool to return more than the ip address; it's all ok while compiling but when we run radiusd-X we get this output: rlm_passwd: nfields: 2 keyfield 0(DHCP-Client-Hardware-Address) listable: no /etc/raddb/modules/dhcp_sqlippool[3]: Failed to link to module 'rlm_sqlippool': /usr/lib64/freeradius/rlm_sqlippool.so: undefined symbol: sql_getvpdata /etc/raddb/sites-enabled/dhcp[41]: Failed to find "dhcp_sqlippool.post-auth" in the "modules" section. /etc/raddb/sites-enabled/dhcp[41]: Failed to parse "dhcp_sqlippool.post-auth" entry. /etc/raddb/sites-enabled/dhcp[37]: Failed to parse "if" subsection. can you help us on this? thanks folks, marco

Works for me. In my case I'm testing a package build with this configure line: ./configure --with-udpfromto --enable-developer --config-cache --enable-strict-dependencies --without-rlm_eap_ikev2 --without-rlm_eap_tnc --without-rlm_opendirectory --with-experimental-modules --without-rlm_redis --without-rlm_rediswho --without-rlm_ruby --without-rlm_sql_firebird --without-rlm_sql_unixodbc --without-rlm_sql_oracle --without-rlm_sql_db2 Othe than the ones specifically excluded, the other modules (including rlm_dbm) was successfully built. On a side note, what does "--with-edir" do? ./configure --help doesn't show anything for that. -- Fajar
