  It depends on your setup, which includes the number of NASes,
authentication protocols, and back-end database used to store users.

  Unless you have millions of users, the answer to your question is
"your system will be fine."

  If you care to see how the server behaves in your setup, configure
it, and do the testing yourself.  No one else has access to your
system to do that testing.
