insert into radgroupcheck table:

id,groupname,attribute,op,value
[leave blank],group1,Pool-Name,==,pool1

This will mean that any user that is part of group1, will have Pool-Name set
to group1 (which will make IP assignment work properly).

radcheck will be just fine authenticating users on its own.
