  No, PAM doesn't support MSCHAP, which is what PEAP uses.  So you
*couldn't* have placed the proper entries in pam.d, because there are
*no* proper entries for MSCHAP.

  So could you try reading the earlier log messages?  It tells you
what went wrong, and why.
