huh?  is this 'debug' argument/option a special script addition
for your OS?

the command you are running appears to be a generic system start/stop
script for the daemon.

if you want to run the tool in debug mode, it needs to run in foreground
etc and therefore you dont use these scripts to do that - you use the
binary directy eg

/usr/local/sbin/radiusd -Xx
