Double-check the shared secret on the server and the NAS!

 Did you set up this server or did someone else?  The NAS is a client to the freeRADIUS server, normally these are setup in clients.conf.

Also, keep in mind that your password will be sent over the network as text and processed as text so using special characters that evaluate to  keystrokes (like ^ +  M) are likely to cause you trouble. Hence the unprintable warning.
