I don't know... It depends how your LDAP directory is setup. Does it have a userPassword attribute? If so what is the header on the password hash? If there's no header but it looks like base64 it's probably cleartext, in which case LDAP + CHAP will work.
If it's anything else you're going to have to collect all your user's passwords and store them again in LDAP, in Cleartext to get CHAP to work.
