Counters for usage.

I want to set a usage counter for users on my Radius box and if possible disconnect them when they reach their usage allowance via a post-acct.
Is this possible to do without having to use an SQL back end counter as I currently only use the files to define users, store accounting etc.

What's the best recommendation on how to achieve this?
