About Wi-Fi on IOS9 and El Capitan devices - A follow-up

Hello,

Perhaps of interest for those encountering problems with WPA/WPA2 Enterprise and the latest Apple client OS releases.

As a reminder, I was facing such a behavior: the device connects to an AP and is successfully authenticated by FR, then connects and authenticates again, and so on.

In the meantime, all other devices (including Apple ones with earlier OSes) were enjoying the Wi-Fi service as usual.

This was with FR 3.0.4 and OpenSSL 0.9.8y.

Since the problematic clients didn’t explicitly complain nor write anything useful in their logs, they just behaved like black boxes.

I thus experimented an upgrade to FR 3.0.10 and OpenSSL 1.0.2d.
(with the head 3.0.x as of yesterday; but commit b7b5493c61 should be sufficient)

And… IOS9 and El Capitan devices don’t choke anymore. [*]
Moreover, the other few devices active today (a Sunday) didn’t seem to be adversely affected by the change.

HTH,
Axel

[*] I still don’t know why those clients are happy now, and that’s hateful. If someone had a clue…
