Well that's a crash - SEGV or similar. Bug, obviously, and you'll want 
to update Samba if you haven't, then report it on the Samba lists.

Can't say I've ever seen winbind crash like that.

How are you doing the mschap auths - calls to ntlm_auth helper binary or 
the newer thing that Matthew Newton added?
