  Installing that package doesn't edit sites-available/default and remove all accounting configuration.

  The only way the accounting configuration is deleted is if someone goes in and does it with a text editor.

  i.e. you reverted the configuration to the default, as I had said at the start.

  Does the Cisco device send accounting packets which log the commands entered?

  Perhaps read the Cisco documentation and see if there's a way to enable that behavior.
