Patch Format

I have a patch that I would like to submit, but I'd like to format it in a way that is easiest to integrate. Other messages I've read indicate that this is git format. Can someone confirm that the instructions for doing this are here: http://git.freeradius.org/howto.html? If not, can you point me to a document that will show me how to provide the patches in the desired format? Thanks..
