Hello, I'm currently using version 1.188.2.3 a hotspot system with a captive portal . I am trying to install a new server with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. Can I use this version 1.188.2.3 this OS or should I spend the 2.2.5 version? They are the differences between the two versions of Freeradius for Hotspot system? Do you have a detailed tutorial to install and configure freeradius? thank you kind regards

You can technically stick a pencil up your nose. That doesn't mean it's a good idea. The only reason to use 1.1.8 is that you were *already* using version 1 for the last 10 years, and you don't want to upgrade. But... any time you ask questions about version 1, the answer will be "upgrade". Version 1.1.8 was released 5 years ago. It's no longer supported. Alan DeKok.
