Hi, I need to send kineto attributes from seagull to free radius which are of type 2. But the standard attributes like user name are of type 1. Is there a way to make standard attribute in RFC-2865 to type 2?? Please help. Thanks & Regards, Yashaswini | Prod Engg | Tech Mahindra Ltd. 9 / 7 Hosur Road, Bangalore - 560029, India. What does that mean? Attributes in RADIUS don't have types. The packet just contains data. Alan DeKok.
Hi , By default all standard attribute like user-name, user-password are of type 1 and length 1. But kineto attributes are of type 2 and length 2. So is there a way to make "RFC-2865" dictionary that is added in free radius to type 2. Please help. The format is 2,1 not 2,2. The dictionary file specifically tells us FreeRadius understands the format. # Note: format=2,1 indicates to freeRADIUS that vsaType=2bytes, and vsaLen=1byte # VENDOR Kineto 16445 format=2,1 FreeRadius can handle these long tag VendorSpecific attributes.

This is wrong. I don't know what you think you mean, but standard attributes each have a different type, and different lengths.
But kineto attributes are of type 2 and length 2.
Again, I don't know what you mean.
So is there a way to make "RFC-2865" dictionary that is added in free radius to type 2.
Are you referring to the "encryption type", as specified in the dictionaries like this: ATTRIBUTE name number type encrypt=2 Help us out here - give us a reference or example so we can understand what you are saying.
