Version 3.2.10 and 3.0.28 have been released
We have released FreeRADIUS versions 3.2.10 (and 3.2.9, ahem), and 3.0.28. These releases contain bug fixes for a number of overflows and memory leaks. Please see the announcement at https://www.freeradius.org/security/ There are also a lot of other updates and improvements. Please see the changelog. We recommend that everyone upgrades to these new versions. Those still on 3.0.x should consider making the move to 3.2.10. There are now few reasons to stay on 3.0. Except for critical security issues, this is likely to be the last release in the 3.0 branch. Packages are not available for 3.0.28 on several newer distributions as it will no longer build - please upgrade to 3.2.10. Thank you! As always, it works great and runs flawlessly on FreeBSD. I've tested it and can confirm everything is working perfectly. Many thanks for the continued commitment to FreeBSD support - it is greatly appreciated. Cheers -- Marek Zarychta
I want to thank the team with fixing Certificate authority issues with "Microsoft Cloud PKI". I was able to finally get this thing working with machines that have been given Microsoft Cloud PKI certs. With several versions being released in the same week. What is the best way of upgrading to a minor version of FreeRadius if it was installed from a source bundle and not from an ubuntu package repo. My thought is to build a new VM and migrate the certs and conf file over, but this seems like a lot of work. Looking at the documentation, it does not clearly state how to upgrade from a minor version to another when you are on version 3. I know that my question can seem a bit obvious to more seasoned admins, but this will be different for me. Any article that you recommend. I just don't want AI to tell me how to do this because Ai may be incorrect. -Hector [cid:3f3af238-063a-4842-8f23-7e8d33c8517e]<https://outlook.office.com/bookwithme/user/af4e411e9f3847489776fafebd3877b9@westcare.com?anonymous&ismsaljsauthenabled&ep=bwmEmailSignature> Book time to meet with me<https://outlook.office.com/bookwithme/user/af4e411e9f3847489776fafebd3877b9@westcare.com?anonymous&ismsaljsauthenabled&ep=bwmEmailSignature> ________________________________ From: Freeradius-Users <freeradius-users-bounces+hector.rodriguez=westcare.com@lists.freeradius.org> on behalf of Marek Zarychta via Freeradius-Users <freeradius-users@lists.freeradius.org> Sent: Thursday, June 4, 2026 2:49 AM To: freeradius-users@lists.freeradius.org <freeradius-users@lists.freeradius.org> Cc: Marek Zarychta <zarychtam@plan-b.pwste.edu.pl> Subject: [EXTERNAL] Re: Version 3.2.10 and 3.0.28 have been released CAUTION: This email originated from outside of WestCare. Backup the raddb directory. Then, in the source directory,"make" and "make install".

The "make install" process will never over-write your existing configuration. So it is safe. But backups are cheap. It doesn't hurt to make a backup copy first. Alan DeKok.

Pre-built packages for common Linux distributions are available from InkBridge Networks:
The 3.2.10-alpine docker image is a developer build according to the first log lines. I think this is not supposed to be. ####################################################################### # # The server was built with the 'WITH_VERIFY_PTR' flag set. This is a # developer-only build option that DRASTICALLY slows down the server. # If you are using the server in a production environment, you will see # significantly improved performance (3x-4x) by re-running 'configure' # with the flag '--disable-developer', and then re-building and # re-installing the server. # ####################################################################### FreeRADIUS Version 3.2.10 Copyright (C) 1999-2026 The FreeRADIUS server project and contributors
