Could you share your experience in question of choice an OS for mysql server and maybe some detail of configuration.

the best chpoice is one in which the system administrator is well experienced to eg configure OS low-level settings regarding thread, disk, network etc usage. the best tool might not give a good result in the hands of a beginner or novice. just like anything in life. fortunately you have already chosen the best RADIUS tool so thats one less variable in the equation ;-) alan
