Hello, Happy New Year to everyone. I'm trying to write in radius.log some logs from SQLIPPOOL. I wrote this code in linelog: linelog log_sqlippool { destination = file format = "%S, %{control:Module-Success-Message}" filename = ${logdir}/radius.log permissions = 0600 reference = "sqlippool.%{%{control:Module-Success-Message}:-default}" sqlippool { exists = "Existing IP: %{reply:Framed-IP-Address} (did %{Called-Station-Id} cli %{Calling-Station-Id} port %{NAS-Port} user %{User-Name})" success = "Allocated IP: %{reply:Framed-IP-Address} from %{control:Pool-Name} (did %{Called-Station-Id} cli %{Calling-Station-Id} port %{NAS-Port} user %{User-Name})" clear = "Released IP %{Framed-IP-Address} (did %{Called-Station-Id} cli %{Calling-Station-Id} user %{User-Name})" failed = "IP Allocation FAILED from %{control:Pool-Name} (did %{Called-Station-Id} cli %{Calling-Station-Id} port %{NAS-Port} user %{User-Name})" nopool = "No Pool-Name defined (did %{Called-Station-Id} cli %{Calling-Station-Id} port %{NAS-Port} user %{User-Name})" } } And in defaults file at post-auth section insert log_sqlippool, and here is my radiusd -X output. The Module-Success-Message contains a lot more than a simple "exists" or "success" word.
sqlippool { exists = "Existing IP: %{reply:Framed-IP-Address} (did %{Called-Station-Id} cli %{Calling-Station-Id} port %{NAS-Port} user %{User-Name})" success = "Allocated IP: %{reply:Framed-IP-Address} from %{control:Pool-Name} (did %{Called-Station-Id} cli %{Calling-Station-Id} port %{NAS-Port} user %{User-Name})" clear = "Released IP %{Framed-IP-Address} (did %{Called-Station-Id} cli %{Calling-Station-Id} user %{User-Name})" failed = "IP Allocation FAILED from %{control:Pool-Name} (did %{Called-Station-Id} cli %{Calling-Station-Id} port %{NAS-Port} user %{User-Name})" nopool = "No Pool-Name defined (did %{Called-Station-Id} cli %{Calling-Station-Id} port %{NAS-Port} user %{User-Name})" } }
You've configured "line log" to look for "sqlippool.exists", or "sqlippool.success", or similar things. The Module-Success-Message isn't that simple.
And in defaults file at post-auth section insert log_sqlippool, and here is my radiusd -X output. Look Bold Lines: ... Don't configure the linelog module like you did. It's wrong. It won't work. The Module-Success-Message attribute already contains a full description of what happened. You don't need to add another one. Just configure the linelog module to user Module-Success-Message as the *message*. And not as the *reference*. Delete the whole "sqlippool" subsection from the linelog configuration. It's not necessary. Alan DeKok.

Ok, I deleted the sqlippool subsection, but I don't know how can I use Module-Success-Message! Where I can found documentation or sample? And where I set that I want to write the output to my log? Thank you again. Aurelio

It's just an attribute. If it exists, it has a message in it.

There isn't any documentation on that, sorry. It's just an attribute. If it exists, use control:Module-Success-Message, and it will have a message. If it doesn't exist, then there isn't much you can do. Alan DeKok.
Alan, I tried a lot and couldn't do it. This information in the log is very important to me. Would you help me? Aurelio Em 08/01/2019 14:00, Aurélio de Souza Ribeiro Neto escreveu:

I'm trying. If you want Module-Success-Message to show up in the logs, just reference it by name. It's just an attribute like anything else. e.g. the default config for linelog contains: Start = "Connect: [%{User-Name}] (did %{Called-Station-Id} cli %{Calling-Station-Id} port %{NAS-Port} ip %{Framed-IP-Address})" Those are all just attributes... replace "User-Name" with "Module-Success-Message", and it will print out the success message instead of the User-Name. *All* of the dynamic expansions in the server work the same way. For all attributes. Module-Success-Message is just another attribute. Alan DeKok.

Those are all just attributes... replace "User-Name" with "Module-Success-Message", and it will print out the success message instead of the User-Name.
*All* of the dynamic expansions in the server work the same way. For all attributes. Module-Success-Message is just another attribute.
I just want to add "Pool-Name" in line log in this Message: "%t : Info: Allocated IP: %{Framed-IP-Address} from %{Pool-Name} (did %{Called-Station-Id} cli %{Calling-Station-Id} port %{NAS-Port} user %{User-Name})" I tried to change for example, Pool-Name to Module-Sucess-Message and in both cases the return is empty. I tried on Accounting and in Post-Auth session. Many Thanks Aurélio

Tried... *what* ?
I tried use Module-Succes-Message.
That's not helpful. You edited the configuration file, so show what you did. It's just text. You CAN cut & paste small bits of text from a configuration file into an email. It's simple to do, and it doesn't require typing out vague descriptions of what you did.

Use %{control:Module-Success-Message}. Alan DeKok.
