Issue with MSSQL connection.
Hello. Im trying to configure freeradius with MSSQL, and when I start freeradius -X, I receive the following error: *Could not link driver rlm_sql_unixodbc: /usr/lib/freeradius/rlm_sql_unixodbc.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directoryMake sure it (and all its dependent libraries!) are in the search path of your system's ld /etc/freeradius/mods-enabled/sql[27]: Instantiation failed for module "sql"* The ODBC driver is installed and working: isql -v MSSQLdb radius radtest +---------------------------------+ | Connected! | | | | sql-statement | | help [tablename] | | quit | | | +--------------------------------+ I'm download the package, from this link https://networkradius.com/packages/#fr32-ubuntu-jammy, and I try with freetds, but I receive the same error message: *"Could not link driver rlm_sql_freetds: /usr/lib/freeradius/rlm_sql_freetds.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"* I checked in the directory, and the file is not there. Hello. Im trying to configure freeradius with MSSQL, and when I start freeradius -X, I receive the following error:
*Could not link driver rlm_sql_unixodbc: /usr/lib/freeradius/rlm_sql_unixodbc.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directoryMake sure it (and all its dependent libraries!) are in the search path of your system's ld /etc/freeradius/mods-enabled/sql[27]: Instantiation failed for module "sql"*
That error means that the rlm_sql_unixodbc module is not installed. By default unixodbc is not packaged in the .deb packages so if you want to use unixodbc to access MS SQL then you will need to build from source.
The ODBC driver is installed and working: isql -v MSSQLdb radius radtest +---------------------------------+ | Connected! | | | | sql-statement | | help [tablename] | | quit | | | +--------------------------------+
I'm download the package, from this link https://networkradius.com/packages/#fr32-ubuntu-jammy, and I try with freetds, but I receive the same error message: *"Could not link driver rlm_sql_freetds: /usr/lib/freeradius/rlm_sql_freetds.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"* I checked in the directory, and the file is not there.
That is because you have not installed the freeradius-freetds package. Install that package and you will be able to use freetds to connect to MS SQL.

I would recommend trying freetds first - I have successfully used it to connect to MS SQL databases - that way you can use the official packages. Building from source will require you to install quite a lot of development libraries - if you're not used to building packages from source I would not recommend going down that route. https://github.com/FreeRADIUS/freeradius-server/blob/master/doc/antora/modul... gives the overview of how to build from source, though that focuses on building the latest development version. You would want to checkout the v3.2.x branch to build the stable release. On 12/10/2022 10:06, Ihsan wrote:
