G Suite Secure LDAP - FreeRADIUS (pfSense) - Authentication - Regarding
Hi All,
I am not a technical expert. For any mistakes in the following please bear me.
I want to configure my pfSense FreeRADIUS as my authentication Server for our Campus Wi-Fi.
We are using G Suite for Education in our University Campus. So I decided to use the Secure LDAP service of the G Suite with FreeRADIUS
As per the instructions by the G Suite, I created the LDAP client and connected with pfSense by using the Stunnel as the proxy by using the BIND credentials given by G Suite.
Supplicant>AP>FreeRADIUS (pfSense)>LDAP>Stunnel>G Suite LDAP
In addition, I need the configure the proxy radius for the eduroam.
Not able to use the G Suite user ID and pw for Wi-Fi.
How to resolve this?

Hi That's just the configuration. What is your client trying to do? You'll need to be doing EAP-TTLS/PAP as the ldap is just an oracle of data and cannot do challenge response. This can all be tested on command line One quick thing, your ldap instantiation has an error, you have more spare than max, so you don't have any spares. Exactly. Your database MUST supply a "known good" password to FreeRADIUS. Read mods-available/ldap. It has EXPLICIT instructions for doing tests with "ldapsearch". If running "ldapsearch" doesn't return a password, then many EAP types simply won't work. You MUST configure TTLS + PAP on the client for EAP. You MUST use LDAP authentication in sites-enabled/inner-tunnel. i.e. authorize { ... if (User-Password) { update control { Auth-Type := LDAP } } ... } authenticate { ... ldap ... } Nothing else will work. This is a limitation of Google Secure LDAP. Alan DeKok.

Hi, In the pfSense whatever the editing I did for the ldap, eap and other conf files are not permanent. The config reverts to the original state once the FreeRADIUS service restarts or the appliance reboots. Hence I am installing the FreeRADIUS in a separate VM now and completed the installation.
