I've often wondered what that means... Is it some weird outlook feature that is meant to 'unsend' email?

Yep, only works if you have a MS Exchange server apparently (maybe it works with Outlook<->Outlook). Meanwhile the rest of the world just laughs and smiles. :) Cheers -- Alexander Clouter .sigmonster says: And on the seventh day, He exited from append mode.
So I assume that none of you guys use MS Exchange server then... Do you guys all hate MS and support open source?? I am a windows guy but I am on your side!! Arran, you found the problem! Now it works! Thank you! I believe it's being forced on staff at my previous employers site, but it's not there yet. My current employer uses exchange. Personally I believe people should always use the tools that allow for best productivity in their environment. Obviously there is inefficiency in running multiple services to support esoteric client configurations, so standards based protocols should be used wherever possible to ensure maximum compatibility.

Left operand can either be a reference to a variable or a string. Right operand can only be a string. When a double quoted string is being parsed (expanded) the encapsulating curly braces %{var} tell the server than this part of the string should not be interpreted literally, but should instead be replaced with the result of the operation described by the text between the curly braces. The use of %{} outside of double quotes is invalid. If you'd wrapped both the operands in double quotes it'd have worked; just using the variable reference as the left operand is slightly faster. -Arran

I would not say 'hate', just find it completely unsuitable or helpful for me to let me do what I need to do. If Windows floats yer boat than that's good, just does not float mine. The one gripe I do have about Microsoft is their tendency to break standards for the sole purpose of tightening their gripe on the industry; with no actual benefit for consumers or the poor sysadmins that have to deal with their cruft. However that's why we have anti-trust cases and multi-billion ${UNIT-CURRENCY} fines :) Cheers -- Alexander Clouter .sigmonster says: The best things in life are for a fee.

The one gripe I do have about Microsoft is their tendency to break standards for the sole purpose of tightening their gripe on the industry; Or more recently pay lip service to the standards process; filling the standard boards with Microsoft supporters, to create diabolically complex standards that they themselves then break, and that other companies find difficult to implement correctly.
