Ttys/pap and Active Directory
Hi I have freeradius and Active Directory. I have configured the eap module In /etc/freeradius/mods-enabled/eap eap { default_eap_type = ttls timer_expire = 60 ignore_unknown_eap_types = no cisco_accounting_username_bug = no max_sessions = ${max_requests} tls-config tls-common { private_key_file = /etc/freeradius/certs/ssl-cert-snakeoil.key certificate_file = /etc/freeradius/certs/ssl-cert-snakeoil.pem ca_file = /etc/freeradius/certs/ca-certificates.crt dh_file = ${certdir}/dh ca_path = ${cadir} cipher_list = "HIGH" cipher_server_preference = no disable_tlsv1_2 = no disable_tlsv1_1 = no disable_tlsv1 = no tls_min_version = "1.0" tls_max_version = "1.2" ecdh_curve = "prime256v1" } tls { tls = tls-common } } In /etc/freeradius/sites-enabled/default authorize { filter_username preprocess mschap suffix eap { ok = return } files ldap if ((ok || updated) && User-Password) { update { control:Auth-Type := ldap } } pap expiration logintime } authenticate { Auth-Type LDAP { ldap } Auth-Type eap { eap } pap } preacct { preprocess acct_unique suffix files } accounting { detail unix exec attr_filter.accounting_response } post-auth { update { &reply: += &session-state: } exec } post-proxy { eap } In /etc/freeradius/sites-enabled/inner-tunnel server inner-tunnel { authorize { filter_username filter_inner_identity pap suffix update control { &Proxy-To-Realm := LOCAL } if ((ok || updated) && User-Password) { update { control:Auth-Type := ldap } } files ldap expiration logintime } authenticate { Auth-Type eap { eap } } Auth-Type PAP { pap } ldap post-auth { if (0) { update reply { User-Name !* ANY Message-Authenticator !* ANY EAP-Message !* ANY Proxy-State !* ANY MS-MPPE-Encryption-Types !* ANY MS-MPPE-Encryption-Policy !* ANY MS-MPPE-Send-Key !* ANY MS-MPPE-Recv-Key !* ANY } update { &outer.session-state: += &reply: } } Post-Auth-Type REJECT { attr_filter.access_reject update outer.session-state { &Module-Failure-Message := &request:Module-Failure-Message } } } post-proxy { eap } } Added ca to trusted root certificates and configured the ttls/pap client on windows. But the freeradius LDAP module is not accessed freeradius -x in the attachment I will accept any ideas with gratitude )

Hi I have freeradius and Active Directory. Hi Клеусов Владимир Сергеевич, I suggest you to follow this guide: http://deployingradius.com/
It's a great tutorial that bring you step by step to authenticate on AD domain. Have a great day Piviul
Thanks. The tutorial is cool. But I don't need mschapv2, but ttls/pap

Do you mean EAP-TTLS? If you follow the guide[¹] after the step 2 you should have EAP-TTLS working... Any way I'm sorry, I don't know freeradius very well but I don't think that EAP-TTLS is the right way to authenticate on AD. My best regards Piviul [¹] http://deployingradius.com/
The idea was that leaving mschapv2. ttls/pap is the only way. I have a suggestion that LDAP is enabled here if ((ok | / updated) & & User-Password) { update { control:Auth-Type := ldap But I haven't found the answer yet why it isn't passed to LDAP.

freeradius -x in the attachment
We need "-X", and we don't need it as an attachment. Paste it in-line.

And.... then what? This doesn't show a full authentication which ends in Access-Accept. If it stops here, then the client doesn't like the server certificate. And this has nothing to do with LDAP. Alan DeKok.
Yes. That is all. Don't like certificate_file= , which is in the eap module ? It's self-signed. Then I will try to add the windows version to the trusted ones.If it doesn't work out.I will issue a valid certificate. Thanks. I'll write about the results later.

Did I understand the procedure correctly ? 1) In the eap module we specify the root certificate 2) Creating client certificates and signing with this root certificate 3) On the windows client we add our root certificate to trusted root certificates 4) On the Windows client we add the generated client certificates to the trusted personal certificates If this is true, does tttls/pap require certificates on the server and client ? I thought tttls/pap only requires certifications on the server

EAP-TLS requires client certificates. TTLS does not.

For EAP-TLS. Not for TTLS.

Doing *any* TLS requires that the Windows client knows about the root CA. You *don't* need a client certificate for TTLS + PAP. You *do* need a client certificate for EAP-TLS. You *do* need a server certificate which is on FreeRADIUS. That server certificate *must* be signed by the root CA. Alan DeKok.
Hello, colleagues.Thanks for the help. I was able to configure it. Can we add instructions to the site?
