Dear, I have a Freeradius server running OK, authenticating against an AD. The Debian package is 2.1.12+dfsg-1.2 version.
The problem is that the service goes down 2 o 3 times a week, and I can't know tha cause. I see the /var/log/freeradius/radisu.log but there is nothing important I think.
Upgrade. We'll be releasing version 2.2.2 tomorrow.
Alan DeKok.
Alan, all due respect, but we are talking about the stock Debian package.
I won't upgrade unless I *really* need to, since I have security upgrades and the rest of the team is not so experienced. Most of people will not feel as comfortable as to compile it. However I will soon have a test domain/server with 2.2.2. Regards

The Wiki documents how to create a debian package. It's not hard. And ask Debian why their software is years out of date. We support *our* releases. If Debian doesn't support theirs, you may need to do more yourself. Alan DeKok.

Just to add to this... The package maintainers are listed here: http://packages.qa.debian.org/f/freeradius.html Contact them and get them to release updated packages. I've submitted a question to Ubuntu about the lack of updated packages. That means you need to complain at Debian, not here. 2.1.12 is over two years old now, and many bugs have been fixed since then.
However I will soon have a test domain/server with 2.2.2.
That is a good place to start :) Matthew -- Matthew Newton, Ph.D. <mcn4@le.ac.uk> Systems Specialist, Infrastructure Services, I.T. Services, University of Leicester, Leicester LE1 7RH, United Kingdom For IT help contact helpdesk extn. 2253, <ithelp@le.ac.uk>
