Android and iOS and session-timeout with EAP
Does anybody know if Android and iOS just automatically try to reauthenticate after an hour or so (using PEAP or similar) regardless of what the session-timeout value is set to? I have been adjusting the value and I can see that the value is being sent in the reply. It seems like Windows is staying connected without reauthenticating early but Android and iOS do.

We're seeing similar issues in our environment here. Some iOS devices reauth as often as once every 12 seconds. We're still looking into it. However, as Anirudh said, it's shouldn't be a FreeRADIUS problem. ________________________________ From: Freeradius-Users <freeradius-users-bounces+martialstudy=hotmail.com@lists.freeradius.org> on behalf of Anirudh Malhotra <8zero2ops@gmail.com> Sent: Monday, September 26, 2016 11:39 AM To: FreeRadius users mailing list Subject: Re: Android and iOS and session-timeout with EAP Blame the NAS radius just entertains requests On Monday 26 September 2016, Clayton Knorr <clayton.knorr@nuspire.com> wrote:

Yeah I know this is all between the AP and the client, just figured this was a forum where people would be familiar with such issues. -----Original Message----- From: Freeradius-Users [mailto:freeradius-users-bounces+clayton.knorr=nuspire.com@lists.freeradius.org] On Behalf Of Mark Williams Sent: Monday, September 26, 2016 11:52 AM To: FreeRadius users mailing list <freeradius-users@lists.freeradius.org> Subject: Re: Android and iOS and session-timeout with EAP We're seeing similar issues in our environment here. its the NAS that rules the show.... if its been configured with some other value and not been told (if configurable) to take the value from the RADIUS reply, then you'll get whatever the NAS has been configured to use... alan
Based on a little further testing you seem to be entirely right on this. Thanks for the response. -----Original Message----- From: Freeradius-Users [mailto:freeradius-users-bounces+clayton.knorr=nuspire.com@lists.freeradius.org] On Behalf Of A.L.M.Buxey@lboro.ac.uk Sent: Monday, September 26, 2016 12:07 PM To: FreeRadius users mailing list <freeradius-users@lists.freeradius.org> Subject: Re: Android and iOS and session-timeout with EAP Hi,
