Auth: Login incorrect: [user/<CHAP-Password>]

Well i've tried the Auth-Type := Local and my radiusd.conf allows chap 
with the following syntax :

authenticate {
         Auth-Type PAP {
                 pap
         }
         Auth-Type CHAP {
                 chap
         }
         Auth-Type MS-CHAP {
                 mschap
         }
         unix
}


But with no success
