1.1.7 to 2.X Upgrade ?

Hi all,

I have installed freeradius last year (October 2007) on a debian and after
reading the post on freeradius.org, I am wondering if it is really necessary
to upgrade to the last version (because of some security bugs). Any advice?

Also, anyone could give me a hint on how to upgrade easily without getting
complications?
(FYI, I've made a debian package from the source code)
