The issue is that "a working spec file" is not the same as a stable,
always secure (maintained by someone else), well-integrated (in your
distro) package, like packages included in RHEL are supposed to be.

This is why using third-party repositories in general are a bad idea,
unless you're really know what you're doing and/or are aware of the
risks and disadvantages.
