Debian Stable AKA Lenny still provides 2.0.4 with no OpenSSL. Using the
backports (which is now an official Debian service) you can install the
newer 2.1.8 with OpenSSL support enabled. See
http://backports.debian.org/Instructions/ for instructions on
configuring the backports.
