Thank you to everyone. I succeed creating a deb from the source after I've patched it.

OK, never heard of it.

It should be OK then. Make sure you're running the version that
you actually compiled. People have made that mistake before.  Old
versions left on a system also often cause library problems - make
sure you completely purge everything of the old version.

Sorry, you're not likely to get much help here. As I said:

I'd be quite surprised if a patch for 2.1.12 didn't apply pretty
easily to 2.2.9.
