  Monitor for what kind of issue?

  Systemd etc. generally does a reasonable job of seeing if the process is running.

  You can also monitor memory use with other tools.

  Or, use "radclient" to send it test packets, to check that it's responding correctly.

  You should also monitor the log files.  Look for "error", and it will indicate what's going wrong.  No errors generally means no problems.
