  It supports space.  If you think it doesn't, then you configured it wrong.  Likely by ignoring all of the documentation.

  Just like you ignored the documentation  when you opened a GitHub issue on this topic.

  Just like you ignored the message you got when you joined the mailing list.

  The documentation tells you how to solve problems.  If you don't bother to read the documentation, then you will run into many problems which could be avoided.
