freeradius 0.9.3 capabilities

I am looking to perform certificate authentication for both external pptp connected users and 802.1x wireless users. SLES 9 comes with FreeRadius 0.9.3. Does this version contain these capabilities or am I better off upgrading? I know last time I upgraded a SuSE server the upgrade was not fun. So I don't want to upgrade for "newer code is better" reasons, but to achieve the goal of certificate use if required.
