Hi, Thanks for the help. I tried the radclient with the same user name and password information. The authentication was successful. echo "User-Name=woi,CHAP-Password=welcome " | radclient 127.0.0.1 auth welcome -x I observed one thing. CHAP-Password displayed by freeradius log while using radclient is 0xaa827ea61465b772ee3cac3fb8cc1ec7a3. CHAP-Password while logging from other laptop is 0x0000000000000000000000000000000000. Is there any way to fix it. On Wed, Dec 31, 2014 at 6:50 PM, Alan DeKok <aland@deployingradius.com> wrote:

I am using freeradius version 2.2.5, coova-chilli version 1.3.0 and mysql. The user login and password information were stored in the sql. The authentication fails for the valid user. The complete freeradius log is given below. Please help.
(a) the password in the database is wrong
(b) the user entered the wrong password
(c) the RADIUS client isn’t doing CHAP correctly.
Pick one.
Try using “radclient” with the correct password, and CHAP. If that works, then the problem is the RADIUS client. It doesn’t work, then the password in the database is wrong.
