You can put hostnames in the clients.conf file, however I'm pretty sure that FreeRADIUS resolves those names at startup and uses that initial lookup until it is forced to reread the clients.conf file for some reason. Since I think 1.1.6 still has issues with HUP, that means a restart.
In short, you can, but it will not see any changes in dynamic IP's unless you restart radiusd.
