Not exactly. I think the whole samba setup needs to be examined. There are known issues with samba 3.2.x but I must say failure doesn't look like this in cases I have seen. If you are using that, try downgrading to 3.0.x which is known to work well.
latest version of SAMBA sends back different answers etc than older version. this messes things up - i'm awaiting announcement of when that issue has been fixed by the SAMBA people alan
