Then i changed my timeout to 60 seconds. I have not gotten a message from WUG telling me that Freeradius is down since i did that and that was several days ago.. Does that mean that my first suspision was correct about Freeradius taking up to 60 seconds to respond to a sent request at times?
It depends on the client. RADIUS packets can be lost in the network, and there's nothing that FreeRADIUS can do about it. If WUG only waits 5 seconds, then it probably won't retransmit packets, and FreeRADIUS won't be given an opportunity to re-transmit replies.
I'm coming to the conclusion that i paid way too much for a crappy monitoring system.
Uh... no comment. Much as open source doesn't have official support, it often *works* when commercial software doesn't. Alan DeKok.
