freeradius 2.1.6 radiusd process user

Hi All, I have installed freeradius 2.1.6 on my linux box. But radiusd process is running as root. root 25027 1 0 04:23 ? 00:00:00 /usr/local/fnmt/freeradius2/sbin/radiusd I saw in older versions 1.1.6 running as nobody user/group. Is it fine if we run as root user? or we need to run as 'radius' user? How to that change. Please suggest. Thanks, Rams.
