RE: Build failure on arch Linux

what system are you building on - I've noted several 'creaky' distros of late which have older versions of the tools/libraries

Arch Linux - 2.6.30 kernel and libtool 2.2.6a-3 which seems to be part of the problem. All compiled now so hopefully will find time to test tomorrow.
