I’m inclined to make FreeRADIUS just start doing authenticated DHCP by default. i.e. if you do 802.1X and then DHCP, the server will add authentication options to the packet. That’s the simplest way to get these things deployed.
I didn't think any clients supported authenticated DHCP? Has this changed?
