Well... that's not FreeRADIUS. They are two completely different pieces of software.

If the database ever goes down for some reason and then comes back up, I have to restart Radius in order to re-establish db connectivity.

Does anyone know how I would be able to get connectivity to reestablish automatically?

Install FreeRADIUS. It will automatically reconnect to a DB. Alan DeKok.
