3.0.4 is years old. You should upgrade to 3.0.11.
It will fix a lot of issues, including this one.
3.0.4 is the supported RedHat one. We usually try to keep to packages supplied by RedHat unless there is a good reason to obtain from elsewhere or compile from source. This sounds like a good reason!
There were some big changes between 3.0.4 and later versions, some of which made it almost impossible to backport patches (RedHat's preferred method of fixing issues), so yes, you'll have to spin your own RPMs. You can do that with their SPEC file though to make sure you follow their way of doing things. :-) Stefan Paetow Moonshot Industry & Research Liaison Coordinator t: +44 (0)1235 822 125 gpg: 0x3FCE5142 xmpp: stefanp@jabber.dev.ja.net skype: stefan.paetow.janet jisc.ac.uk Jisc is a registered charity (number 1149740) and a company limited by guarantee which is registered in England under Company No. 5747339, VAT No. GB 197 0632 86.
