How about using a regexp: if ("%{Cisco-AVPair}" =~ /^ssid=(.+)$/) { update request { UCam-Essid-Name := "%{1}" } } I haven't been able to test this with more than one Cisco-AVPair attribute; I wasn't sure what the conclusion was about that, but I think it should match.
