RADIUS + LDAP authentication problem
Hello all, I'm trying to configure RADIUS server that would be used for authentication of users in Wi-Fi network with WPA-enterprise encryption. To do this I'm trying to use EAP + LDAP inside of freeradius. The problem is that I see in log: ++[ldap] returns ok ERROR: No authenticate method (Auth-Type) found for the request: Rejecting the user Failed to authenticate the user. After this client fails aithentication. Here is full log of freeradius -X: FreeRADIUS Version 2.1.10, for host i486-pc-linux-gnu, built on Nov 14 2010 at 20:41:03 Copyright (C) 1999-2009 The FreeRADIUS server project and contributors. Hi Alexander, Start by checking this table, check how the passwords are stored in your ldap and then you will know what kind of protocols you can use with it. I was working on the same thing, my ldap stores the password in SHA encryption so I am only able to use PAP protocol on the supplicant (laptops) , PAP does not exist natively on windows therefore I had to install a third-party software (supplicant) on the laptops in order for the authentication to work. If the passwords are stored in clear-text, then you could use any protocol. Wassim. This is catastrophically broken. WHY did you edit the TTLS configuration and break it?
ttls { default_eap_type = "gtc" copy_request_to_tunnel = no use_tunneled_reply = no include_length = yes }
It SHOULD have: virtual_server = "inner-tunnel" You deleted that. That's wrong. And you broke more, too: ...

You did a lot of work to break the server. Don't do that. The default configuration works. Change as little as possible. If you don't understand something, don't change it. Alan DeKok.

You're using TTLS/MS-CHAP:
[ttls] Session established. Proceeding to decode tunneled attributes. You need the password in clear text, or as an LM- or NT-hash. Read the list archives from yesterday. Oh, and the day before.
[ldap] looking for check items in directory... [ldap] userPassword -> Password-With-Header == "{MD5}ibKj45B56xWdI2wgngTn5A==" [ldap] looking for reply items in directory...
MD5 isn't going to work. And for the daily URL: http://deployingradius.com/documents/protocols/compatibility.html
Does anyone have idea what could be the problem?
Don't mix incompatible auth schemes. You're also using your default outer server for your inner server. That's probably not the best idea, and certainly not the supplied default config.
