eapol_test on Windows ;-)
Hi everyone, So... question... we’re trying to resolve something tricky with one of our members who is a Windows person. Given that I know eapol_test, I thought I’d give it a try to build it with mingw64, not fun. Does *anyone* on the list happen to have managed to build it on Windows, and if you have, could I possibly beg you for a copy? ☺ Alternatively, and I’m looking at the Gods o’ RADIUS here, do you know of something else that speaks EAP that works on Windows, but doesn’t require the poor man to download the better part of a gigabyte of ‘stuff’ to run some EAP tests? I know we’re all Linux and macOS wonks here, but... help? ☺ With Kind Regards Stefan Paetow Federated Roaming Technical Specialist t: +44 (0)1235 822 125 gpg: 0x3FCE5142 xmpp: stefanp@jabber.dev.ja.net skype: stefan.paetow.janet In line with government advice, at Jisc we’re now working from home and our offices are currently closed. I've never managed to do that. Maybe try the Windows subsystem for linux, and just run it there?

Not sure, sorry. Alan DeKok.
Where I work, people have been using eapol_test tool for Windows for ages! [cid:00309805-656b-4913-b0a9-c703046223f9] @stefan If you are interested, I can ask one of my workmates to email you a copy. Have fun. ________________________________ From: Freeradius-Users <freeradius-users-bounces+sfhacker=hotmail.com@lists.freeradius.org> on behalf of Alan DeKok <aland@deployingradius.com> Sent: Saturday, 6 March 2021 4:57 AM To: FreeRadius users mailing list <freeradius-users@lists.freeradius.org> Subject: Re: eapol_test on Windows ;-) On Mar 5, 2021, at 12:50 PM, Stefan Paetow via Freeradius-Users <freeradius-users@lists.freeradius.org> wrote:

Wow! The Holy Grail exists! That would be great, or, if they are so inclined, a Makefile or instructions would be just as much appreciated! ☺ Thanks very much in advance. All, Just to update you, I have also managed to build a copy (thank you to Sergio for providing me with a binary in the meanwhile). I have sent Jouni Malinen a patch that fixes the one thing that prevented eapol_test from running on Windows, and I will provide a .config file to the FreeRADIUS.org folks to publish on the FreeRADIUS site (along with other instructions). It appears that the easiest way to build this is to use Ubuntu as the build environment with MinGW32-w64 installed, purely because it seems to build with the least amount of drama. Alan/Arran/Jorge, expect an email in the near future ( With Kind Regards Stefan Paetow Federated Roaming Technical Specialist t: +44 (0)1235 822 125 gpg: 0x3FCE5142 xmpp: stefanp@jabber.dev.ja.net skype: stefan.paetow.janet In line with government advice, at Jisc we’re now working from home and our offices are currently closed.
