radrelay in 1.1.x and in 2.x

Hi all, I have a question regarding radrelay. There's a program named radrelay in branch_1_1 and there's a way of launching FreeRADIUS in HEAD that is called 'radrelay'. It seems that the difference between them is that radrelay program disappeared to be merged with radiusd. Are the behaviours of radrelay program and radiusd/radrelay different. It seems that radrelay program sends the request to only one radius server until it gets a response and that the requests are sent to the same server. For radiusd/radrelay, it seems that the behaviour is configurable with modules and so on, but, is the proxy behaviour different? My problem is that I would like to send accounting requests the more reliably as possible. I mean that if I have 3 remote servers for a given realm and that at east one is available, I want my accounting request to be sent to the alive server. FreeRADIUS could try the first remote server, if dead, try the second server, if dead try the last server... For accounting, this has 2 main advantages: - If at least one remote server is up, the request is delivered - If several remote servers are dead, they are all marked dead with only one accounting request For authentication request, our position is that synchronous proxy is the best approach - given that dead server timers can evolve to become very flexible (per NAS, based on RADIUS request content...). Firebird sql driver

Hello all. After releasing of freeradius 1.1.4, I reported about some fixes I made. Now freeradius 1.1.5 released but these fixes are still not applied. I guess now it too late for the current release, but may I ask to commit my changes in the next release of freeradius? It should not take too much time - just replace files sql_fbapi.c, sql_fbapi.h and sql_firebird.c with those attached here http://bugs.freeradius.org/showattachment.cgi?attach_id=186

Is there any chance to get updated python module upstream?

Hi, Alan & list subscribers! Is there any chance to get updated python module (the one I'd posted here couple of times in the past, or the one in bugzilla) into freeradius mainline? The situation haven't changed much from the past. The only users of python module I know use patched version, either mine or another. Other folks try to use "stock" module, but it is failing horribly and people get disappointed by this. Hia, Asking again I'm working on a an client server application which uses freeradius in back end and a custom build finger print scanner at front, I have to develope a customized VPN Client to dial in to a network, would you please take time and help me find some docs and information on this issue. my problems are: 1- which protocol I have to use and how, I think and radius docs said chap is very good for this purpose but how I can use it to send fingerprint encrypted feature to my server 2- how can I get the feature in the back, have I to customize freeradius core engine ? 3- it's better to use ldap beside my server or mysql is enough ?
